China closes factories due to the Olympics |

The Chinese government has progressively taken safety and environmental measures to provide the most favorable conditions for the Olympic Games. The improvement of air quality in all hosting cities is one of the most important issues for the Chinese government.
The most recent measure comprises the temporary closing of 40 factories in the city of Tianjin. All construction projects will be put on hold (including the new subway line). In the city of Tangshan, more than 300 factories will stop production during the Games.
This is one of the most important moves made by the Chinese government, due to the fact that some athletes had refused to participate in the Games because of growing health concerns, specifically because of the high levels of pollution seen around China. From July 25 to September 20, 2008, these measures will be in effect.
L2A reccommends to take the above in consideration when planning your productions and orders during this time and while this measure is in place.
